Making sure your home is gas safe
As a leaseholder, you are responsible for the regular maintenance of all gas appliances and flues in your property and these should be safety checked and serviced by a Gas Safe registered engineer every 12 months. Poorly maintained or badly fitted gas appliances can put you and your neighbours at risk from gas leaks, explosions, fires and carbon monoxide poisoning.
How to find a Gas Safe registered engineer
The Gas Safe Register website provides details of all gas engineers who are registered to work safely and legally on gas appliances. Alternatively we have negotiated competitive prices with our gas contractors who can carry out a gas safety check and provide you with a Gas Safety Certificate.

What about flues?
Some properties, mainly flats and apartments, have internal boiler flues which can’t easily be inspected because they are hidden behind walls or ceilings. As Gas Safe registered engineers need to be able to see a flue, if the one in your property isn’t visible, an inspection hatch will need to be fitted.
