Midlands Voluntary Right to Buy Pilot
We are taking part in a Government pilot scheme in the Midlands to give housing association tenants the right to buy the home they live in or, in some circumstances where there may be an exemption on their home, the right to potentially buy another one. The scheme gives eligible tenants, who must register in a Government ballot, discounts of up to £80,900, depending on how long they’ve been a tenant and the market value of the property they buy.
The pilot launched on 16 August and we are writing to tenants in the Local Authority areas which are participating to provide more details.
For full information on the pilot, please check out this comprehensive guide for tenants. You may also find this handy step-by-step guide useful. Please note that you must register online here on the Government website to take part in the ballot.
