Our service at Cambridge Road

Cambridge Road is a newly-built site that consists of one and two bedroom houses. We provide customers with between three and 13 hours of support each week. There are nine low-level supported houses and eight intensive support houses. There is an office on site which is staffed from 8am to 10pm with a sleep-in provided for our intensive customers.

More about the service

This service forms part of our Cambridge mental health ‘cluster’. The cluster is an integrated pathway service providing a range of supported accommodation options for adults with mental health support needs in the Cambridge area.

The cluster comprises twelve sites ranging from self-contained houses or bedsits to shared houses with single bedrooms and shared communal facilities.

We work in a flexible way to enable customers to live as independently as possible. We focus on each customer’s strengths throughout their time with us and we encourage individual choice because we recognise that everyone has their own talents, abilities, interests, capabilities and dreams.

Our team supports individuals to develop their living skills in order to promote engagement in purposeful activities such as education and employment.

We work proactively with customers, agencies, families, advocates and other relevant professionals. The support offered is based on, and complements, needs agreed through the Care Programme Approach (CPA). Care co-ordinators from the Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Mental Health NHS Trust are actively involved in customers’ progress. We continually monitor and evaluate our practice to ensure we’re providing an effective and relevant service.

Customers can be referred into the pathway at any level by the local care teams via a monthly accommodation panel.
