We are aware of ongoing instances of fly tipping in Normanton, Chaddesden, Derby city centre and other areas of Derby and Derbyshire. People have been spotted driving on to estates, unloading their rubbish and driving away. This leaves an unsightly mess, and the responsibility for an expensive clean-up operation to someone else.
Each time we or the council are called to respond to an issue of fly tipping, it costs Metropolitan money which is ultimately passed on to our customers in their service charge. By keeping fly tipping to a minimum, this enables us to keep our costs to you to a minimum as well.
We are urging local residents to take responsibility for helping us bring these fly tippers to justice. Registration numbers, descriptions and even photos are incredibly useful for us to pass on to local authorities in order to identify culprits.
To report a fly tipper, contact Street Pride on 01332 642020 or call their 24 automated hot-line on 033 3200 6981 with as much information as possible. Street Pride will then contact us to resolve the issue.
