Anyone can suffer from mental health problems. According to the World Health Organisation, one in four people in the UK will be diagnosed with mental ill-health at some point in their life.
The level of support needed varies hugely: some of the people we work with experience problems temporarily and need low level support to help them get back on their feet. Other people we work with have a more severe diagnosis, requiring longer term and more intensive support.
We provide a range of support models that are tailored to the individual. This includes support in someone’s own home, as well as accommodation in shared or self-contained supported living schemes, registered care homes and registered nursing homes.
Our person-centred approach means our customers are at the heart of what we do. We work with them to develop their support plans and encourage them to achieve their objectives through a range of activities. By listening to our customers we are able to support them with a range of opportunities to bring structure and focus to their lives, for example through healthy living, volunteering, work and training opportunities, as well as getting involved in the way we deliver services and the communities they live in.
We work in close partnership with many statutory and voluntary agencies and organisations, opening up even more opportunities for our customers to get their lives back on track, including social enterprise initiatives and local community investment programmes.
